Not purchasing the LEGO Taj Mahal the first time around was one of the regrets of my life, so when it was rereleased, I purchased it immediately. I mean, how often do you get to fix one of your life's regrets? Alas, going back down that road not taken did not provide the satisfaction I had anticipated.
This is the most repetitive LEGO build I have ever worked on. Once you complete the base, you are stuck building 8 identical pieces (each of which take 2-3 hours to assemble) - and then another 8 identical pieces (same 2-3 hours). It was, frankly, boring. In general, I find doing LEGOs to be downright meditative, as I get thoroughly lost in the process. But this was so repetitive that it was downright tedious.Level of Difficulty: 4Value for Money: 4Building Experience: 2PROS:- absolutely gorgeous- incredible showpieceCONS:- boring build- very difficult to move from.
Being someone who loved Lego's as a kid, my 4-year old son received a small Lego set for his birthday two years ago. Since then, he (and I) have purchased several (many) more sets. Some of the sets (including this Lego Tower Bridge) were specifically for me (as I rekindle my love of Lego's), and this set is definitely at the top of my list of favorite sets. Some of the newer sets separate pieces into numbered bags, whereas this one doesn't (it's a LOT of pieces to be mixed together). That said, I've enjoyed the piece searches and/or the organizing of pieces to make for an easier build process, and it certainly doesn't take away from the rating.

Some people have mentioned that it's a double-build for the towers (it is), but each tower is so complex in the number of steps and pieces. When Lego uses their creativity in technical car builds, the results are usually fantastic. This set is the best I've had the pleasure of building.
It is a phenomenal set piece that resides on my desk at work. I've gotten multiple compliments on it and everyone wants to touch and/or play with it. Do not let them. This build is for you. Once you build it, you will make vroom sounds. You will display it in multiple configurations depending on your mood for the day. Maybe you want to show off the engine one day and the interior the next. For less than $100, this is perhaps the best complex Lego set you can buy.
Enzo Ferrari would be proud of this Lego replica.
